pacman

!pacman

Category: packages

Manage packages with pacman (Arch Linux). Accepts repo/name syntax (strips the repo prefix for queries/removal).

Notes

  • package accepts a scalar or a nonempty list of names. Each list entry is templated per host/item and validated with an indexed error. Lists use one installed-package query and one transaction containing only packages that need installation, a version change, or removal. Duplicate names coalesce within a batch. Scalar syntax retains its existing execution behavior. version and update/upgrade/remove settings apply to all entries. Upgrade checks use repository candidates; pacman list updates target the selected packages without running a full system upgrade. A mixed create/modify batch reports created; an all-modify batch reports modified; an already-correct batch reports matched. Plan checks state without installing/removing packages. with.items remains iteration and can run several separate batches.
